Video Chat Impact

TIffony is an original Freedom Writer who frequently works with students in their schools and via video chat. 

 

Technology is such an amazing thing. It moves and changes faster than children grow up. From the old days of the rotary phone to today’s Skype we have found amazing ways to communicate. I have been using Skype more often than ever because of the Freedom Writers Foundation’s dedication to reaching every classroom possible. 

I’ve spoken to classrooms both nationally and internationally.  The video chats are done by Ms. Gruwell or a Freedom Writer, like me, at the Freedom Writers Foundation in Long Beach, CA. Whether I’m speaking to one class or a whole auditorium, it’s amazing to be able to reach kids without the time and expense of travelling; although, it would be wonderful to visit and see everyone in person.

 

The response the Foundation is getting is incredible.  Here are some quotes from teachers who have set up video chats for their students…
